Abstract:Plant fiber based foam material has a great prospect in place of traditional polyfoam because of the foam can be completely degraded and the raw materials are sustainable renewable. It is of great significance to study the relationship between the foam microstructure and its performance for developing the new foam material. In this study, plant fibers based foam material was prepared through fibrillating of the fibers, foaming, injection molding and drying. Furthermore the relationships between the content of SDS and both of pore structure and static compression properties of the foam material were discussed. The results showed that the pore structure and static compression performance could be controlled by adjusting the content of SDS. The pores of the foam distributed evenly and the foam also had well mechanical properties when the content of SDS was in the range of 0.02%~0.03%. |
