Abstract:Paper-based friction material has excellent performances such as properties of porosity, oil absorption, easy compression and resilience, etc. The composition of its green body plays an important role in its performance. The paper aims to introduce advances of research on two major components of green body—reinforced fiber (natural plant fiber, inorganic fiber, carbon fiber, organic synthetic fiber, hybrid fibers) and friction modifier (friction reducing agent, friction increasing agent, mix of various friction regulating agents), the integrated performances of each components were summarized from reviewing existed researches, and then they were compared respectively. A main developing direction of green bodies components was that the environmental friendly, material with high temperature resistant, stable friction coefficient, and low wear rate should be used as much as possible and the components combination should be optimized. |
