Abstract:Corn stalk, as the main agricultural residual in China, can be realized the fully utilization of its three main components by developing the lignin separation technology. High boiling solvent of 1,4-butanediol was selected as cooking solvent to separate lignin from corn stalk in this study. The optimal cooking conditions were: 1,4-butanediol 90% (mass fraction), cooking temperature 160℃, solid/liquid ratio 1∶10, time at maximum temperature 1.5 h, dosage of concentrated sulfuric acid 0.15 mL/g (on the oven dried raw material). The highest lignin extraction rate was 89.2%, corresponding to 18.2% on the oven dried raw material. Additionally, no significant change of the functional groups of lignin was verified by FT-IR, it provided the potential for downstream application. |
