Abstract:Nano silver sulfide-pulp composite fibers were successfully prepared by using in-situ synthesis process. The antibacterial paper sample made of the composite fibers was analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and the results confirmed the existence of silver sulfide nanoparticles on the surface of the paper. The effects of preparation conditions (sulfur source types, temperature, time and reactant concentration) on the antimicrobial property were explored, it was found that the main factors influencing the antibacterial property of the paper were sulfur source and temperature. The composite fibers prepared by using sodium sulfide as sulfur source had good antibacterial activity, but those prepared by using sulfourea and sodium hyposulfite as sulfur source had no antibacterial activity. The composite fibers prepared at room temperature had the best antibacterial property. |
