Abstract:Many physical strength properties of paper and paperboard are determined by the interfiber bonding properties of the sheet fiber network. The interfiber bonding properties mainly include interfiber bonding strength and interfiber bonded area. The determination methods of interfiber bonded area in sheet fiber network were reviewed in this paper, which could be divided into direct method and indirect method based on interfiber bonded area evaluating method. The direct method included ordinary optical microscopy method, fluorescence microscopy method, polarized light microscopy method and confocal laser scanning microscopy method, while indirect measuring method included gas absorption method of BET and light scattering coefficient method. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of different methods were compared in terms of operability and accuracy etc. |
