Abstract:Chinese ancient paper and traditional handmade paper were made of various fibrous raw materials, mainly were bast fiber and grass fiber. There were certain limitations in the traditional taxonomies, by which paper was classified according to bamboo, bast, grass and hemp, it was unable to meet the requirements of related research work. Based on the latest APGⅢ plant classification system and fiber morphology of the raw material plants, combined the idea of traditional classification, a new taxonomy was proposed, naming 3 Series,7 Categories and 16 Types. This taxonomy could clarify the biological genetic relationship between the fibrous raw materials used in ancient paper and traditional handmade paper, and clarify the internal relations between different fiber morphologies. |
