Abstract:The trial production of bleached eucalyptus slab pulp in a modified bagasse pulpline was introduced in this paper. The results showed that the pentosans content of eucalyptus slab was only 8.16% and much lower than that of bagasse fiber, but the lignin content of eucalyptus slab was similar to bagasse. The existing bagasse pulp production lines could be used to produce bleached eucalyptus slab pulp without adding any new equipment, only need to make some modification of the hydraulic bagasse washer and pump. Concerning the pulping technology it was better to use low sulfidity alkaline cooking method to digest the eucalyptus slab. And the optimized alkaline dosage (as Na2O) was 18% to 20% and cooking temperature was 170℃. The suitable ClO2 dosage in ODEp (oxygen delignification-chlorine dioxide bleach-hydrogen peroxide strengthened alkaline extraction) bleaching sequences was 0.8% to 1.0%. The brightness and viscosity of the final bleached pulp in production practice were better than that in lab, and the quality of the bleached pulp was also very good.
