| Abstract:Dialdehyde carboxymethyl chitosan(DCMCS)was prepared by the selective oxidation of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS). A new paper strengthening agent carboxymethyl chitosan-cationic starch (CS) was prepared by composite reaction. Research showed that a good strengthening result was obtained when the charge of DCMCS-CS was 0.6%. The strength of the paper was the best compared with adding the same dosage of the single additives or DCMCS-CS. SEM showed that DCMS-CS could efficiently increase fiber bonding strength and bonding the area between the fibers, sequentially increase the strength of paper sheets. |
