Abstract:In this experiment, phenolic and polyimide resins were used separately or together in sequence to impregnate the base paper of paper-based friction materials and the effects of different impregnation conditions on sheet strength and porosity before and after hot pressing were studied. Results of different ways of impregnation were compared. Experimental results showed that the strength of the sheet before and after hot pressing increased with the increase of impregnation amount of resins in all the three cases. They also showed that in single resin impregnation, sheet porosity decreased with the increase in impregnation amount, while in the sequential impregnation of both resins, sheet porosity increased with the increase in impregnation amount. |
