Abstract:Based on the confocal technology and image-processing technology, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) can obtain the three-dimensional image of specimen without damaging the sample, with high transverse resolution and single-noisy ratio. The working principle of CLSM was introduced in the paper, and the application of CLSM in the fiber-surface study (fiber morphology and fiber surface lignin), fiber deformability (fiber flexibility and collapse) and paper sheet structure (internal structure and external structure) was also intensively discussed. It is believed that CLSM will bring great achievements for these studies. |
