Abstract:In order to compare the influence of paper filter rod and acetate filter rod on the released quantities of harmful substances in mainstream cigarette smoke,the released quantities of tar, nicotine, water, CO, HCN, NNK, NH3, Benzene[a]pyrene, phenol and crotonaldehyde in mainstream smoke of several kinds of acetate filter rods and paper filter rods were investigated. The results showed that comparing with acetate filter rods, paper filter rods could significantly reduce the emission of nicotine and tar in the mainstream smoke, the released quantities of ammonia and Benzo[a]pyrene were lower, but the released quantities of HCN, NH3, phenol, crotonaldehyde were higher in the mainstream smoke, paper filter rod had no significant effect on the released quantities of CO and NNK. Therefore, the paper filter rod could effectively reduce the released quantity of particulate matter in the mainstream cigarette smoke, and the released quantity of gas-phase matter in mainstream smoke was equal to acetate filter rods.
