Abstract:The preparation of cationic starch immobilized by β-cyclodextrin (β-CD-CS) and its application in papermaking after forming inclusion complexes with ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (CipHCl) were studied. The results showed that the optimal conditions of synthesizing β-CD-CS were as follows: the molar ratio of epichlorohydrin to β-CD was 5∶1 and the reaction temperature was at 40℃. With the amount of β-CD-CS used for forming the inclusion complex increasing, the tensile strength, tear strength and bursting strength of the paper sheets increased firstly and then decreased. It also showed that the antibacterial effect of the paper sheets containing the inclusion complexes was excellent and increased with the higher adding amount of the inclusion complexes. When the adding amount of the inclusion complexes was 2.5%, the inhibition zones of the paper sheets against E.coli and S.aureus were 16.9 mm and 16.3 mm respectively. |
