Abstract:A new measurement method of silica content in sulfate pulping black liquor was put forward on the basis of comentional silica molybdenum blue spectrophotometry, in which the effect of lignin and reducible sulfur compound in the black liquor on the absorbance values in the silica molybdenum blue spectrophotometry was eliminated by the performic acid resolution method. The analysis results of the new method was more truthful and accurate compared to the traditional silica molybdenum blue spectrophotometry. The recovery of silica content was 99% to 102% used this method. This method had a better stability, easy operation and less disturbance than the traditional method, was suitable for analysis and detection of silica content in sulfate pulping black liquor.
