| Abstract:This paper reported a headspace gas chromatographic technique for rapid determination of coliforms in tissue paper. The method was based on the relationship between the number of coliforms and the mass of carbon dioxide (CO2) produced during the bacteria incubation. The results showed that the present method took only 18 hours for getting a positive result. The present method was simple, accurate and much efficient for coliforms testing compared with the traditional method. |
