Abstract:Aramid sheet is made of the hydrophobic aramid fibers and aramid fabris which are easily flocculated, the distribution of these two kinds of fibers in the sheet structure namely the formation of aramid sheet is an important factor affecting all of the performances of the sheets, so measuring the formation of aramid sheet has become a major task for researchers. However, there is not a standard international formation evaluation method due to the complexity of the sheet and the slurry system. Two different methods were adopted to test and analyze the formation of aramid sheet in this paper. The results showed that these two methods could be used to characterize the formation of the sheet.
