Abstract:The penetration characteristics of Aspen wood during NaOH impregnating process was studied with the self-made equipment. The results showed that the longitudinal penetration performance of sapwood was significantly better than the performance of heartwood, and there was no significant difference between sapwood and heartwood on the transverse penetration performance. The transverse penetration of NaOH impregnating was layer-by-layer penetration process, and there was a linear relationship between the unit penetration volume flow rate and the penetration time. On the other hand, the longitudinal penetration process could be divided into two stages, namely the rapid penetration stage (the first stage) and the slow penetration stage (the second stage). In addition, with the conditions of this study, the temperature and the concentration of NaOH had positive effects on the penetration process, the thickness and moisture content had negative effects on the penetration process. |
