| Abstract:Chloride dioxide is the first choice of elementry chlorine free bleaching (ECF) in modern pulp mills. But it is prone to decomposition during the preparation and will cause safety problem. With methanol preparation process as an example, the safety of process design are described in this paper. The dangerous chemicals, chlorine dioxide protection, system safety design, interlock control design and material selection are emphasized. |
