| Abstract:The cast iron dryer used in paper machines is a special kind of pressure vessel and the main materials of the dryer are gray cast iron and spheroidal graphite cast iron. Due to some incompatibilities between the government’s regulation and the industry standards, there exist some practical problems in application. This paper compares the relevant rules of the ASME codes and EU standards, the mechanical properties parameters of cast iron, especially spheroidal graphite cast iron were discussed and some suggestions for the revision of the national standards were put forward. |
