Abstract:Refining is the important stage in APMP manufacture process, and high temperature pulses generated in this stage makes pulp fibers curly and kink, which can reduce the strength properties of the pulp. The effect of acid xylanase and alkaline xylanase on latency removal was compared by using fiber quality analyzer (FQA). The result showed that alkaline xylanase can be used to improve latency removal. The optimal treatment conditions are enzyme dosage 10 IU/g pulp, pulp consistency 2%, pH value 8.0 and temperature 60℃. Kink index can decrease 11.9%, each mm kink number can reduce 8.5%, and the curl index can decrease 9.7%.Observation of Environment Scanning Electron Microscopy (ESEM) showed that xylanase treatment can make fiber swelling and reduce the fiber latency. |
