Abstract:Soy protein polymer is a green adhesive and rheological modifier. It can provide thickening and water holding to coating as well as binding strength. Effects of Pro-cote ®4610 on precoat and topcoat gray bottom whiteboard performances in laboratory and pilot tests respectively were studied by comparative analysis. The results show that the results of pilot test were consistent with that in laboratory. Compared to reference formulas (CMC, starch), Pro-cote®4610 improved PPS roughness, sheet gloss, ink absorption and printing surface strength to some extent and the paperboard properties after topcoat all met the technical standards. Latex dosage could be reduced when Pro-cote®4610 was added in the precoat coating formula, which was benefit to protect the environment. |
