Abstract:The high silicon content in green liquor of bamboo pulping hinders alkali recovery and recycling of lime mud. The desilication of green liquor with aluminum salt in alkali recovery process of bamboo pulping was investigated in this paper. The desilication mechanism of aluminum salt was also discussed. The results showed that the desilication rate increased rapidly with increasing the dosage of aluminum salt. The desilication rate of the green liquor increased to 74% when the ratio of aluminum salt and silicon content in green liquor was 1∶1(mol/mol). Silicon content in green liquor decreased to 1.13 g/L. The results of SEM-EDAX analysis indicated that silicon in the green liquor reacted with aluminum salt and formed sodium aluminosilicate precipitation. This was the reason of silicon content decrease in the green liquor.
