Abstract:Organic silicon surface sizing agent was prepared by radical polymerization with the enzyme modified cassava starch as main raw material, styrene(St), butylacrylate(BA), acrylonitrile(AN), acrylamide(AM), dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride(DMDAAC) and γ-methyl-acryloyl trimethoxysilane as monomers in H2O2-FeSO4 oxidation-reduction initiator system. The optimum synthesis conditions were as follows: m(α-amylase)∶m(starch)=0.004, m(FeSO4)∶m(H2O2)=0.04, DM dosage being 0.6% of emulsion, AN dosage being 1.5% of emulsion, AM dosage being 0.4% of emulsion, organic silicon monomer dosage being 2% of emulsion, m(St)∶m(BA)=2, m(monomers)∶m(starch)=2.4. The structure and performance of the surface sizing agent were characterized by FT-IR, static contact angle and SEM. The experiment demonstrated that the polymer could improve corrugating medium sizing performance. The sizing performance was optimum when the dosage of surface sizing agent was 0.5%. |
