Abstract:It was recognized widely that the fibre charges play an important role in papermaking, which affect wet-end flocculation, dewatering, sizing as well as the properties of final products .The total charges contribute to cell wall swelling and fibers bonding. Surface charges affect the adsorption of chemical additives(e.g. retention aids and strength aids) on fibre. In this paper, DQP bleached wheat and bamboo pulps was used as material,CPAM was used as cation polyelectrolyte, the relation between fiber charges and the adsorption of CPAM on the fibers was studied by polyelectrolyte titration. The results indicated that there is a good relativity between fiber charges and the saturated adsorption amount of CPAM when fiber charges are constant. |
