| Abstract:A spectrophotometric method was established to determine the content of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC-Na) in paper. CMC-Na in paper was extracted by hot water, then the extracted solution was mixed with concentrated sulphuric acid and phenol, thus an orange solution was obtained. The absorbance of this orange solution was measured at 477nm. This method had quite a good precision and a rather high recovery. The detection limit was 0.2%. |
