Abstract:In this paper, the effect of chitosan and bentonite particulate retention and drainage system on the retention and drainage performance of the tobacco pulp, and tobacco sheet physical property was studied. The results showed that the chitosan /bentonite particle retention and drainage system can improve retention and drainage performance of the tobacco slurry significantly. Compared with using 0.1% chitosan alone, when the particulate retention and drainage system of 0.1% chitosan and 0.4% of the bentonite is used, the first retention, filler retention, drainage volume in 20 s are increased by 14%, 12% and 190 g respectively.
