Abstract:Based on fiber length, fiber width, length-width ratio and chemical constitution analysis of the tobacco stalk and determination of the pulp yield, pulp brightness and tensile strength of the paper sheet made from the pulp, the tobacco stalk CMP pulping process including pretreatment duration, temperature and chemical charge was optimized. In addition, the pulp obtained under the optimized conditions was used to prepare paper sheet with various proportions of bleached hardwood pulps. The results indicated that CMP made from tobacco stalk had a good performance in light-weight paper, which showed relatively high tensile strength, folding endurance and elongation. The paper sheet, containing 20% CMP, showed higher tensile strength and elongation which met the demand of base paper for inner backing paper used in cigarette package. |
