Abstract:In this study, corn starch was first subjected to the annealing treatment, and then the surface-sized starch was prepared using amylase hydrolysis method. The study specifically discussed the physicochemical properties of modified starch and its impact on the mechanical properties of paper. The results showed that annealing treatment could significantly regulate the content of amylose and the crystalline structure of starch, and the surface-sized starch prepared from annealed C75T60H24 starch significantly improved the mechanical properties of paper, with a maximum increase of approximately 3.7% in ring crush index, 10.5% in transverse tensile index, 3.4% in longitudinal tensile index, and 10% in burst index. The innovative research results provide a deep understanding of the enhanced mechanism of surface-sized starch on the mechanical properties of paper in terms of short-range order, which provides theoretical basis and technical support for the preparation of surface-sized starch assisted by annealing treatment. |
