Abstract:Effect of supplemental carbon source concentration on PCP degradation by micro aerobic magnetic activated sludge was studied, and the micro-aerobic activated sludge without magnetic was used as blank control. The variations of PCP and CODCr removal efficiencies, the microbial activity and flocculation performance of the activated sludge were researched. The results showed that PCP and CODCr removal efficiencies of micro-aerobic magnetic activated sludge were 90% and 75% respectively higher than 70% and 65% of the blank control, when the carbon source concentration was 1600 mg/L. The microbial activity and the sludge flocculation performance in the micro-aerobic magnetic activated sludge system were enhanced by the presence of magnetic powders, the highest dehydrogenase activity was 288.5 mg TF/L·h, compared with 198.4 mg TF/L·h of the blank control.
