Abstract:Researchs related to vacuum system of paper machine usually deviates from specific production variables of the mill, its practical guidance function is inadequate and it cannot provide a specific vacuum setting point. In this paper, a method to establish the optimization model of vacuum system was presented. At first, the model explained how different vacuum pressures could affect energy consumption of paper machine and the dryness of the sheet before dryer section. And then the model worked out the best energy saving vacuum array under different working conditions. Operational data from a paper mill in Zhuhai was used to illustrate the proposed method. The data showed that the model had high precision and was reliable. It could be used in the actual production to optimize the operation of the vacuum system.
