Abstract:Aramid sheets can be manufactured from aramid short fibers and pulp by wet forming process. Properties of aramid sheets can be improved by hot pressing process. The change of micro-structures of the surfaces and cross-sections of aramid sheets during hot pressing were observed by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The porosities of the sheet were analyzed via Image J tool and the hot pressing process was optimized.
