| A New Rapid Determination Method for the Pentose in Wheat Straw |

| Abstract:Determination of the pentose in wheat straw is usually used capacity titration in paper industry, but this method is quite complex and time consuming. In this study, phloroglucinol-bydrochloric spectrophotometry was used to determine the pentose in wheat straw, and the color reaction conditions were optimized. Various samples were analyzed under the optimized conditions. The results indicated that the result of phloroglucinol-bydrochloric spectrophotometry is related to that of capacity titration following the equation of y=1.1348x+1.3884(R2=0.9729). Therefore the corresponding capacity titration result can be calculated rapidly with the result of phloroglucinol-bydrochloric spectrophotometry by using the equation. |
