Abstract:The ash content and fiber components of the waste papers from different sources were compared in the laboratory, the optical properties, ink contents, physical strength properties and pulping yields of the de-inked pulps from the waste papers were studied. The investigation results showed that the waste paper of wood-free grade with high brightness has the lowest ERIC content, fewer dirt, and relatively higher strength, which satisfy the production requirement for fine paper with 85%ISO brightness. Whereas the waste paper of wood-containing grade has higher pulping yield, lower pulping cost, but its low brightness and high dirt properties were unable to meet the production requirements of fine paper when using at a high proportion.
