Abstract:The effect of the main components of bamboo succus on the brightness of alkaline hydrogen peroxide chemical mechanical pulp (APMP) of Bambusa Chungii was investigated. The GC-MS analysis results showed that there are many chromophore or auxochrome groups of unsaturated bond in the bamboo succus. The contents of methyl benzene, xylene and hydroquinone in the bamboo succus are 75.88%, 0.98% and 0.41% respectively, and the three materials have great effects on APMP brightness, especially the hydroquinone, which makes the pulps brightness declines 3.4%ISO. The brightness of unbleached APMP pulp prepared with the bamboo chip pre-extracted with 60% ethanol is 5% ISO higher than the control sample, the brightness of the bleached pulp is 6.94% ISO higher, and the p.c value is lower. The succus consumes more bleaching agents, and affects the brightness and yellowing of APMP pulp badly. Through XPS analysis, the contents of non-carbohydrate and the unsaturated groups of CO , O—C—O and OC—O increase on fibers surface, but the content of carbohydrate declines.
