Abstract:Coated paper and board are widely used to reproduce high quality printed images. However, printers often find different print quality when the same job is printed using papers or boards from different suppliers. What are the most important characteristics that cause papers to perform differently during printing? By analyzing ink paper interactions, this work discussed paper properties that may cause printing defects, and proposed trouble-shooting approaches that can be used by both printers and papermakers to eliminate or reduce these printing defects.
