| Abstract:In this work, styrene-acrylic emulsion using for impregnating automobile filter paper was prepared by preemulsification and semicontinuous copolymerization process, using styrene and acrylate as monomers and using various combined emulsifiers. The influence of emulsifiers on tensile and burst properties, and stiffness of the filter paper was investigated, and then the combined emulsifiers with best performances were selected. The use of emulsifiers contributed significantly to tensile and burst properties, and stiffness of the filter paper. The tensile strength of above 3.15 kN/m, stiffness of above 3.45 mN·m, and burst strength of above 250 kPa were achieved when the emulsifiers including OP-10/FR-1, OR-2/DSB, and FOR-3/RE-610 were used. |
