Abstract:Bacterial cellulose (BC) was used as the reinforcing substrate, chemically modified by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and compounded with nano-magnesium oxide (MgO) to produce silanized bacterial cellulose/nano-magnesium oxide (APTES-BC/MgO) repair dispersion, which were applied in the study of the durability of reinforced paper. The mechanical properties of APTES-BC/MgO repaired paper were always higher than those of the BC treated paper samples and the original paper during the wet-heat aging process. After 30 days of hygrothermal aging test, the transverse tear index and transverse tensile index of APTES-BC/MgO reinforced paper were still 29.58% and 27.63% higher than those of the unaged original paper, and the pH and alkali reserves were 7.56 and 0.25 mol/kg, respectively, with the least whiteness change and colour difference. The aged paper reinforced by APTES-BC/MgO exhibited the excellent durability. |
