Abstract:Professional English for Pulp and Papermaking is one of the important elective courses for the undergraduates majoring in light chemical engineering, which is vital to improve the comprehensive ability of students since the major was built. However, the students’ learning initiative is not high. The teaching content is old, which is far from the practical application. There are insufficient teacher-student interaction and slow teaching feedback. The course assessment method is one-sided. Under the background of engineering education certification, based on the teaching concept of OBE, this paper proposes to encourage the students’ learning initiative through “research on learning situation + major introduction”, “reconstructive” teaching content, “mixed” teaching mode and “personalized” teaching evaluation to carry out teaching reform of this course. Through the study of this course, students can be qualified for the relevant position requirements of enterprises or have the ability to consult English literatures required by scientific research and the ability to propose solutions. |
