Abstract:In this study, cationic starch was used to adjust the surface negative charge of lignin and fiber to achieve their in-situ binding, and successfully prepared lignin-containing antibacterial fiber. The lignin-containing antibacterial fiber is completely prepared from renewable and degradable raw materials by simple method. The lignin retention rate is more than 92%, and the lignin deposition rate on fiber can reach up to 27.9%. The antibacterial measurement showed that antibacterial fiber had broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. When the concentration of lignin in antibacterial fiber was 2 mg·mL-1, the antibacterial rate against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis was 71.2%, 86.0% and 89.2%, respectively. This study will provide simple methods and raw data for the preparation of lignin-containing antibacterial fiber, and provide important support for the preparation of antibacterial paper.
