Abstract:Lignin has certain hydrophobicity, low cost, renewable and environmentally friendly. The introduction of hydrophilic groups in its structure can improve the solubility and surface activity of lignin, form lignin amphiphilic polymers, and then prepare lignin-based surfactants. This paper summarizes the research progress of lignin-based amphiphilic polymers, focuses on the types and influencing factors of lignin-based surfactants, and discusses the application of acetal lignin as amphiphilic polymers. In addition, the research status of Pickering emulsion stabilized by lignin is emphasized. Finally, the opportunities and challenges of converting lignin into value-added products are briefly described.
