In this study， a headspace-Karl Fischer coulometric method was established to determine the moisture content in cigarette paper. By optimizing the experimental conditions such as heating temperature， titration time， sample shape and sample size， the moisture content in cigarette paper was quickly determined. The results showed that the optimum conditions for detecting the moisture content of cigarette paper were as follows： drying furnace temperature was 120 ℃， adopting delay time termination mode， titration time was 10 min， sample mass was 0.06 g. The recoveries of the method were 95.46%~104.99% and the relative standard deviations were 1.12%~4.07% at different spiked levels. Compared with oven method， halogen method and thermal conductivity detection by gas chromatography （GC-TCD） method， the determination results were close， and met the relevant requirements of GB/T 462—2008. The Headspace-Karl Fischer coulometric method could extract water more fully， and truly reflect the moisture content in the sample. Headspace-Karl Fischer coulometric method is simple， rapid， accurate and reliable， and suitable for batch analysis of moisture content in cigarette paper.

http://zgzz.ijournals.cn/zgzzen/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=202405019&flag=1

A uniform experimental design method and quadratic multiple regression equation were used to investigate the effects of the combination of filler modifiers （tobacco fragment pulp or softwood pulp， cationic starch， sodium stearate， sodium hexametaphosphate） and multiple retention aids （chitosan， cationic guar gum， bentonite） on the pulp retention rate， and the distribution uniformity of calcium carbonate in the reconstituted tobacco sheet. The results showed that chitosan， guar gum， bentonite， and softwood pulp were more beneficial to improve the pulp retention rate among the factor contributions. In the two-factor interaction diagram of tobacco fragment pulp and softwood pulp， there were five different trends. The mass-produced （unmodified） reconstituted tobacco sheet had the pulp retention rate of 68.8% and the tensile strength of 0.378 kN/m. Optimising the parameters through regression equations and verified experimentally， the pulp retention rate of the reconstituted tobacco sheets achieved 92.9% and 94.9%， and the tensile strength increased by 30.2% and 28.8% respectively， when multiple retention aids were combined with tobacco fragment pulp and softwood pulp modification. The composites， formed by calcium carbonate wrapping tobacco fragment pulp and softwood pulp， were evenly all relatively uniformly dispersed in the reconstituted tobacco sheets.

Paper breaks leading to unanticipated downtime can significantly impact the production efficiency， the prediction and diagnosis of paper break is rather important for the papermaking industry. In this study， a method of paper break fault classification and identification based on stacked autoencoder （SAE） and Softmax classifier was proposed to select the key process variables by combination of correlation analysis and mechanism analysis， and adopt clustering method to label the type of paper breaks. SAE model was established and trained to extract deep features from the data， and paper break faults were identified based on the extracted features using a Softmax classifier. Validated using historical data from a paper mill， and the model results were better than those of other machine learning models， with achieving the paper break classification accuracy of 96.2%， the precision of 93.1%， and the recall rate of 91.9%， which indicated that the classification model based on SAE feature extraction could effectively identify paper break faults.

To achieve accurate detection of the adhesive thickness of cigarette tipping paper， a spectral confocal detection system had been established. This system enabled the measurement of the thickness and distribution uniformity of adhesives on the surface of the tipping paper. By comparing the results with those obtained from scanning electron microscopy， the accuracy of the spectral confocal detection method had been further verified. The results showed that the spectral confocal system was capable of precisely capturing subtle differences in the thickness of adhesives in the gluing areas of the same sample. The adhesive thickness of different types of tipping paper had obvious difference， with the measured thickness ranging from 8.7 to 15.1 μm across three types of samples. The heatmaps generated from the spectral confocal detection results offered a visual representation of the distribution of adhesives in the gluing areas of cigarette tipping paper. The coefficient of thickness variation in the gluing areas effectively characterized the uniformity of adhesive distribution in that region， providing a quantitative basis for evaluating the gluing quality.
