<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[Wax paper is one of the ancient coated paper in China in the base paper applied wax coating processing paper， appeared in Sui and Tang Dynasties， Ming and Qing Dynasties are the most prosperous， lost in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. In different periods of ancient China， the difference in the production of wax paper is mainly reflected in the thickness of the paper， the number of layers， and the wax application technique， according to the different techniques and coating materials， it can be divided into wax paper， powder wax paper， and gold wax paper. The protection and restoration of wax paper cultural relics begin at the beginning of this century， and the scientific and technological analysis of wax paper begin to appear in recent years， mainly using non-destructive or micro-damage methods to analyze the raw material composition and structure of wax paper. At present， the research on wax paper is little， and there is still room for further improvement in the restoration， protection and restoration of wax paper. This paper reviewed the development of wax paper and the research achievements in raw materials， production process， technical analysis， protection and restoration of wax paper， and provided a reference for the subsequent research of wax paper.]]></description>

<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[In response to requirements change and technology progresses， a new category of Japanese handmade washi， the mechanized washi， has been derived. This paper discussed the connotation， definition and scope of application of washi， provided a systematic introduction to the evolution of Japanese washi， and focused on gathering technological innovations in the process of mechanizing washi， including effective measures such as the addition of chemical substances and tool improvements. While evolving and innovating， washi also strived to preserve traditional techniques. This article prospected the significance of washi innovation for the future inheritance and development of traditional Chinese handmade paper. Chinese handmade paper should strengthen the standardization and normalization of all aspects of the papermaking process to protect the characteristics of traditional papermaking technology. At the same time， evaluation indicators and strategies should also be improved to ensure the quality and sustainable development of paper after mechanization.]]></description>

<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[Based on local chronicles ， this paper collected information on the types of ancient paper and their production sites in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River during the Ming， Qing and Republic of China period. It preliminarily organized the types of ancient paper and their spatial-temporal distribution of production sites in this region， gradually exploring the types of ancient paper and their production sites. Research had shown that paper products were widely distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River， with a total of 237 origin information collected， with Hunan being the most abundant. At the same time， the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River had a rich variety of paper products， including bast paper， bamboo paper， grass paper， cotton paper， etc. During the Qing Dynasty and Republic of China period， the types of paper products developed from traditional paper such as bark paper and grass paper to bamboo paper and then mixed with various raw materials for papermaking. The quality also significantly improved， which was a common result of the comprehensive utilization of natural resources and the improvement of paper making technology.]]></description>

Studies on fiber by using microscopy， it was confirmed that the paper was bark paper mainly composed of Wikstroemia indica fibers. Some samples were mixed with Morus alba L. or Corchorus capsularis L. fibers， reflecting traditional papermaking techniques and providing reference for the protection and restoration of folk rchives.]]></description>
